Are readers nowadays too woke? I've been around since the god-awful yaoi proportions and honestly I couldn't care less on what type of them a BL is. Incest, rape, large age gap etc idc I read if it's good and interesting (and if I can stomach it lol) since it's fiction and it doesn't reflect on me as a person. I see most people saying "oh you read this and that you must be like that as well or you like that stuff" and I just go ???? Idk just my cent and genuinely curious on what others say on this matter as well.

I think it’s just a preference and boundary, of course you can’t dictate what others read but you can judge. Also if you want more engagement try posting this on the ‘people are sharing things’

New gen readers are obsessed with shoving morality down your throat over fiction these days, its worse cuz a majority of them usually end up being minors who shouldn't be in certain spaces that are ment for adults in the firet place. I fear we've lost the plot of "don't like don't read" and "fiction is supposed to stay fiction". It's the same argument we had in the past about peoppe watching crime so they must wnat to commit crimes and video games make people violent, unfortunately theres always gonna be people that can't separate fiction from reality.

I think being so clenched over stranger's thoughts and opinions that don't align with yours over fiction should be considered a form of mental illness cause like who gaf genuinely. Just dislike and scroll away from those comments lmao.
(Not aimed specifically at you btw OP I'm just talking in general about people who always complain about this issue everywhere on this fricking site because I'm annoyed with both sides).

I think it's 2026, almost 2027, and we shouldn't apply 1990s yaoi logic on people's expectations anymore. Seriously. What was generally acceptable then may not be acceptable now, get with the times.
