Tbh this story started out super smutty nonsense that I only read bc ghost top is really hot. But like 30 chapters in the authors writing chops kick in and it gets better? Like I felt very sorry for the bottom at first and the endless dream rape wasn't my thing but once that ends it kickstarts tops ghost hunting career and we meet a variety of side characters. I liked all the couples, there are three in total.
The secondary brother/incest couple had me iffy at first(this one has real rape, not dream or ghost rape) so I was put off. But the 2nd top was tortured alot so I was glad they finally got to be happy as a nonblood related couple in the future. In fiction, I accept many things. Plus I liked the character designs for this couple the most.
The 3rd couple i had no clue where we were headed and had little feelings for the bottom. I just felt very sorry for the top and even wished the bottom would dissappear so he could finally live a normal life with no other ties. But top really loved the bottom, with no influence from the bottom himself, and ig(not really to me) the bottom suffered enough by enduring the long years of his absence so they got a happy ending in the 3rd? Life. Id say the first and second life wasn't very happy tbh.
I feel like the author didn't know what they wanted to focus on, which is a shame bc they are talented at horror and at slice of life/school life themes, which i feel they tried to combine but couldn't balance with the romance well. The best part of this was during the ghost hunting years of the 1st life(which were interesting and the ghosts were drawn very well) and the extras of the school life in the 3rd life. I feel like the 3rd life could've been a great slice of life group webtoon. I liked the big friend group vibes and the difference dynamics between the characters and couples. The author missed an opportunity on both accounts i believe by starting this with 30 chaps of smut that could've wrapped up faster.
