Why is the FL good at cooking? Just because she came from a country known as the “gourmet nation” doesn’t automatically make her predestined to have chef skills. I have read till chp 40 and not once has the author bothered to have shown her actually practicing her skill. In her flashbacks it doesn’t seem like she was cooking in her country either so where is she even getting her skill or recipes? Everyone acts like they’ve never heard or tasted any of the dishes she cooks up. If these dishes come from her destroyed country of Geotat (can’t recall the name) shouldn’t these people be somewhat informed about them. Why do they always act like wow nobody’s ever thought of smashing potatoes and frying them? This manhwa is ingenuine about incorporating cooking into the plot that it makes me mad as hell. NEways that’s not the only problematic thing that it has going for it (weird age gap between the 14 y/o ML and presumably 18 y/o FL). I hate how the author has characterised Trudy, the only fact about her is that she is jealous of FL. Trudy is a sous chef but seemingly with no talent whatsoever. For a country that seems to be hell bent on meritocracy why would they hire her of all people to be an imperial chef? Also, the country of Marehaluk not even using salt in their food is so bogus like people in history have gone to war for salt and you’re telling me the imperial kitchen isn’t using salt in their food ? What the hell does this country even eat, even when the FL made the omelet the Princess and ML were so fucking shocked and mind blown over something like as simple as that?! Do the people in Marehaluk even eat if putting salt in their food is what’s considered revolutionary?
Honestly it was own fault for expecting any amount of depth from this sort of genre of shoujo manhwa but god damn at least put some basic thought behind the story.
