I think its because MC feels guilty and afraid of what might his father do if he continues to engage in a relationship with Hunter. Specially, if you remember MCs past where his mother died / trady happened and it is somehow connected to Hunter
I think it would be better for you to re read the story if you still don't understand why MC left Hunter
PS. Somewhere in this comsec has a summary of the story and it answers as to why Yoojin left Hunter...

Yujin ran away cause he is afraid for Aaron's life. He is not kidnapped but Aaron thinks that; he is worried dead for him & broken & holed up in his house for the past year thinking Yujin is in a bad state with his villain father, and never stopped searching for him..!
If he wants Aaron to be better apart from him, he could've given him a fair goodbye! I can't stomach this events turn & justify it
Did Aaron do something bad to be abandoned like that?! I can't remember such an element? I'm done with this easy story sequence by all writers. Not putting enough effort to create a balanced relationship. It's always the bottom feeling wronged for no reason & running away, again, for no reason but some nonsense created in their little brain. Then again you just read the comments going with the flow, not arguing where it matters. Ew. Enough! Elaborate a little!
I'm glad I came across "The Pizza Delivery Man and The Gold Palace." Never read a story with a balanced characters building like that. Also "Between the Lines"; one of a kind story that actually amuses the reader with a realistic characters representation. That is needed a lot among these widespread, bad-written BLs
