I feel like it's just me

the arts is great and the sex scenes to die for but there's something corny about the plotlines and dialogues, takes things too seriously and fails at realism

I agree, the dialogue has been killing me, I’m making the assumption it’s due to the setting being America, I get the vibe the author took inspo from movies and such, to capture the culture, but it just falls flat cause it feels unnatural. I also think this author maybe struggles with writing dialogue that feels more natural. The way the British people were speaking in the new chapter felt super awkward and “American” (like a movie script).

i’m glad i’m not the only one who thinks this i feel it’s lacking too and the dialogue is a little corny but then again it is fiction and just a read.
