Grayson locks Dane up to push Dane to sleep with him 1 time and check the butterfly mark, not to lock him until heat. He is taught since young that SA is a crime, that's why he always frequently go to pheromone party to release it out or love bomb people to sleep with him, both of which is considered consensual in his mind. Grayson is so strictly monitored on his pheromone level by not only himself but also his parent that the chance of him going to rut unexpectedly is low. So many people brings up the omega brother details while missing the context and why he say it - releasing pheromone regularly is a must for dominant alpha to not become a mindless rapist who jump on anyone. No one is strong enough to remember their morals in the pheromone outbust, that's why he will never let himself goes to that point. It is exactly why he is so keen on pushing Chase to go to the parties since Chase has not released pheromone by himself at all and relying only on drugs.

there is a scene in the novel where grayson was in rut and the injection was in injected to him unsuccessfully. they are not in good terms that time and dane was still in the other room. dane saw grayson lying unconciously on the floor. it was him who help grayson. grayson never forced dane to do anything. grayson just desperately apologizing to him. his story had showed many times that despite of what he ANSWERED to chase's QUESTION, he will never do it to his brother or anyone else. Like what i've replied earlier, Grayson proved to Chase that if he is desperate and not regulating his pheromones, he could possibly forced himself to someone without knowing who they are. The good thing with Chase's case was Joshua consented it and he liked it, but what if he did it with the other person and not joshua? Grayson just told Chase the literal possibility of the consequences of not regulating their pheromones.
My first thought wasn’t even being locked up with no food, it’s that Grayson knows Dane is an omega, even if Dane hasn’t confirmed it, Grayson knows, and he locks them up in there knowing that Dane is an omega and therefore will eventually go into heat, and him into rut as well, are there heat and rut suppressants in the secret stock of food, if not and if he knew there weren’t any or wouldn’t be any, how could he lock them both up together without any suppressants? And if he thought there was and it turns out he was wrong, does he immediately let them out? , if not that’s bad.
Dane does go into heat and I know it’s Dane who SA’s Grayson and I’m not defending him on that, just like I wouldn’t defend any alphas who go into rut and SA someone (yes going into heat or rut isn’t something they can control, and losing their minds to pheromones so much that they don’t even realize what they’re doing isn’t their fault, but that doesn’t absolve them for doing harm to others, some one can be both a victim and perpetrator at the same time),
what I will say though is that from what I’ve read in omegaverse stories (haven’t read heaps of them , because there’s just to must SA in allot of them) where someone goes into to heat or rut unexpectedly it’s either a medical thing where it couldn’t be helped or it’s negligence on their part (ie being careless about taking medication or simply thinking it’s something to take lightly and make reckless decisions because of that)
so if Grayson really did knowingly lock them up without any suppressants, he’s not blameless in this situation (from the info I have). He didn’t know dane’s heat cycle calendar, so it’s so reckless on his part, and if he unexpectedly went into rut instead of Dane would he have SA’d Dane? Considering he said he would rape his own omega brother if he was desperate enough (in, kiss me if you can) I think he would. Was any of this going though his mind as he locked them up in there, I guess later chapters might tell me.
