You know, I didn't have TOO much of an issue with the Beastmen idea--heck, it was really interesting that there was this storyline to it, and there was a lot of mystery and interesting stories concerning Milton, Milo, Kendrick, Little A, and A. But then there's a bit of dissonance here.
Kendrick and Milton talk about the trauma and abuse they experienced following turning into beastmen, but Little A just adds to it. There's a concern by a few farm members of losing their humanity, with Milton wanting to be bred like a cow, but even when he's lucid enough to ask Little A to free him from the machine, Little A doesn't stop until the machine enters pregnancy mode, and before he seemed to enjoy Milton in this state. And the author does something weird with Kendrick where they talk about his trauma at losing his eggs--only for him to lay another group later and serve them up for Little A to eat and saying that was just his chicken side wanting to protect the eggs. So the flashbacks and emotional stuff for him with laying eggs previously is essentially just "oh, he's acting like a bird right now, don't worry about it." Not to mention, Little A goes through with hypnotizing Kendrick (tonic immobility) under the idea of helping him lay eggs and believing a farmhand that Kendrick could be hurt if he didn't lay them properly. You know, MAYBE I could've overlooked him completely disregarding Kendrick's feelings if it was just about laying eggs, but it did become sexual (not entirely for Kendrick to lay eggs) and Little A even had thoughts of keeping Kendrick like this. The creator's note says scrapped concepts of Little A were "voted 'sexy POS' in high school," so it'd explain why he's problematic, and them originally just planning for smut explains why the situations happened in a non-romantic setting. The author even said Kendrick seems like the type to be targeted by sadistic people.
I've heard people say maybe Little A has a different side to him that flips on and on like a switch that brings out his more problematic side, and maybe that's true. I just can't enjoy him as a protagonist when he's simultaneously sold as a man-child who doesn't know better and a naughty perv who gets what he wants. I think the plot had potential, but it's undermined by taking advantage of the other characters when they spoke of being taken advantage of before.
