I read half the novel, then spoiled the ending for myself. And... Yeah, damn. I feel incredibly frustrated. What the author ultimately did is monstrous. You can't do that. There are things you can't do, even if you're writing dark fantasy. If the MC suffers, it should have meaning, they should get something in the end as a reward for their suffering. NOT THIS.
