I genuinely think he's just a respectful guy and a lot of people have misconstrued that as genuine feelings. I won't deny that he's recently been affectionate but it feels like hes just enjoying the "friends" aspect of the FWB situation they've got going on. a respectful relationship built on mutual trust and communication doesn't automatically equal feelings, but I think they're well on their way to blossoming within him. those feelings are buds for now
I see your point, and I’m not saying your view is impossible, but there is a difference between respect and being in love, kinda. Since Jaeyi himself said quite some time ago that he didn't even know what that feeling is - (love, etc. In Chap.9, Page 49.) - was like, it’s going to be an explosive realization for him when it finally hits him, like BOOM. Or perhaps something sad or unfortunate needs to happen first for him to understand—like Ideum dropping out of the picture or getting together with someone else. Jaeyi has said and done things that go beyond how anyone would normally speak or act—even as a "friend," with or without benefits—and while Ideum didn't react much to them at the time, looking back now, he senses that something within him has changed regarding Jaeyi. But ofc, Jaeyi also a respectful dude this is why I like him.

Oh and also, I said too, that Ideum with huge virginity and with total isolation is really unlikely to not fall first, but he so lack of experience, I can somehow imagine, he can’t put things together that easily.
