My exact thoughts. I was so excited for Varia and loved her before knowing her and now that she is here it's so...rushed. unrealistic even, so my head canon is that the duke can't escape the original story. Their god wants him to love Varia so he will love Varia

I’m not complaining about the romance cause I knewwww from the start that she’s going to end up with the ml and he deserves someone special BUT the way it’s executed is a bit lacking Idk it feels rushed like suddenly he’s in love with her- yeah I know sometimes people fall for no big reasons but I just don’t feel it like him admitting that because she looked good in black at the banquet- I wish it was as slow burn between them yk with the confusion and all not just because Lionnia has been brainwashing them about being in a relationship- as I said I don’t Mind the ROMANCE I just wished for a better execution that will make me giggle and blush when they look at each other
