Um. Thats a lot of pent up rage. Im pretty sure it was just a unique creative choice to add sorrow, interest and depth to a story early on and not intended for it to be taken that way but alright.

stories that utilize the “oh well the soul was off so that’s why everyone hates the MC” is literally just rebranded ableism. that’s the type mentality that led to autistic people (and those with other mental/physical conditions) historically being killed or seen as subhuman. humans do, as any animal, have an unconscious aversion to “the unknown” but with fuckin compassion and understanding it’s so fucking easy to counteract that aversion.
i’m so fucking tired of it.. then you throw in the fact that to “fix” the soul someone has to to do something DRASTIC like fucking DIE.
it’s not like the kid NEEDS this level of trauma, he could’ve just been sickly, got a transplant, then BAM! he can start his career as a musical prodigy.. but no.
