And yes, this IS an allegory for trans issues. I feel like the whole sub-genre of omega-verse is an allegory. The MC has gender dysphoria. His identity/imagine of self, a alpha, does not match his body. And getting his womb removed would be considered gender affirming care. Gender dysphoria is when your body does not match your gender expression. Trans people are also not the only people that get gender affirming surgery. A woman getting breast implants or a man getting hair transplants are both conditions gender affirming care.

Not sure if omegaverse is usually used as a trans allegory. It’s mostly an excuse to get men pregnant. If used for messaging, I see more commentary on gender based hierarchy and reproductive rights than I do on gender and gender expression itself, although the latter does occur (usually in the form of an omega being distraught over getting heats and potentially having kids. Then, because the author has no intention of actually writing societal commentary, the omega gets dicked down and everything is good and well lol. I have also seen alphas being upset because they’re too alpha-y, and those stories do actually lean into the transgender allegory)
Omegaverse can be used both ways and in between. It now has become pretty mainstream into Fandoms. However it is clear the author is taking it and tacking a lot of issues that can be a direct correlation to current day issues , gender, gender envy, afforming care, surrogacy, "feminism" or I guess "omeganism?" , how each omega sees their role in the society and how they address and move thru it.
But it's true most writing of omegaverse lacks luance but in my opinion it's because they as writers lack that too.
wasnt expecting this much wokeness from my yaoi, cant wait for them to start inserting trans allegory, not sure how it will work though since trans is all abt body dysmorphia, and virtually there isnt any difference between alphas and omegas (height, build, maybe?)
