I actually really liked the fact that they didn't have some crazy insane story about their exes. It felt more realistic. Like just people drifting apart due to different desires for their lives. Not some crazy story about their exes cheating or dumping them for a woman or the guy having never been in love before and all his exes dumped him for not caring(very tired of overplayed tropes). It's such a minor detail to have both the mcs have had serious relationships in the past where they genuinely loved the other person but it just didn't work out. They just grew apart and had different plans for their lives. And both characters healed from it. It's very realistic and refreshing. Also a very healthy portrayal of a relationship. They grew apart from their previous partners naturally and then they grew to like each other naturally as well. I really appreciate healthy, mature relationships in bl.
