A toxic BL is bad enough, but it's worse when stuff is just forgotten or forgiven. I tried reading this long ago. From what I recall, a toxic seme is obsessed with the uke (also reincarnation stuff going on), to the point where the seme is willing to emotionally destroy the uke, including sending the uke's grandfather to a nursing home and getting the uke's friend arrested. IIRC, the grandfather died and the best friend had no hard feelings, so it's a very "makes it easy" moment.
Definitely on the "MC should've been with best friend" list.
