Yeon's mom is the villain of this story. She's controlling, and overprotective of Yeon, to the point where every meaningful relationship of Yeon's have been paid off by her to spy on him and report to her. Yet, she's always been absent from his life and always left him all alone in the mansion. Iirc, she's like that bc she's mourning her wife who died.
Anyway. ML was also one such person. Yeon's mom was his benefactor when he was a kid or smt like that (nothing shady, just actual benefactor), and when Yeon needed a tutor, she sent him and used him as a spy.
Now that they met again, he's no longer a spy. Still, ML is going to fuck up and go ask Yeon's mom for permission to date Yeon. Mom, being the asshole villain that she is, will use this opportunity to manipulate Yeon by revealing to him that ML was her spy.
They will break up and Yeon will be really cold to ML, and thus the chasing arc will begin. Sadly, according to spoilers, it's going to be very short.
This all happens at around 3/4 of the story.
