i agreed with this sentiment at first, but if you really look at it and understand, they have been manipulated so badly by that woman. she turned miwa into a murderer and punished yoshiomi for looking like his father. it's all her fault. the twins were her victims bcs she wanted revenge. i get that miwa could've done something, but if you're in that deep manipulation for so many years, you'll feel helpless and actually believe no one other than your manipulator. satoe didn't only used their mom, but also used yoshiomi to cage miwa.
I understand but its like how victims can be perpetrators if that makes sense. I acknowledge hes a victim too, but he basically became an accomplice in keeping MC chained when he refused to run away too(or even just help MC run away alone) when MC begged him for years.

I read the sequel and tbh miwa didnt get much punishment(falling into a coma for a year didnt rlly hurt him it just hurt those who loved him) for all the ppl he killed for me to justify his HE(which i could bc ur right he is also a victim but regret alone does not bring those ppl back nor does it erase what happened to his brother. I think i would have liked if he served a couple of years and then got out.). Its fine when they were kids, but he was grown and watching his bro be gangraped(and bro was telling him he didnt like it, its not like miwa didnt know he hated it lol it just didnt matter to him if it could revive his mom) and refused to use his power to even help just his bro escape alone(if he wanted to stay he could just stay by himself). It reminds me of those brainwashed parents that let their kids be abused and raped in cults "for their own good" and "to achieve some spiritual goal". Those ppl are also brainshwashed and need mental help, are usually not all the way there bc of drug use, but they are still held responsible by law and also go to jail irl anyway for being accomplices even if they truly believed their actions were for good. I detest them and miwas actions arent much different from them(he has the same thinking and the same actions just going based on objective facts not how he feels). But agree to disagree.

I actually ended up not liking Miwa(the brother of blond MC) bc when u think abt it if the ability is real that means they could've run away at any point in the years blonde MC was raped over and over for years from a young age and the only thing standing in the way of freedom was Miwa not wanting to run bc of a fcking promise made by their tormentor??? Then the author tried to make them even by having blond MC as a child lie about Miwa not being there too and trying to run away alone with the dad like thats as bad.
