decent read and i was rooting for the characters, but the main villain is extremely inconsistent and there are soooo many plot holes. like is he evil manipulative mastermind or just a manchild? how did he outsmart a generation of leaders with the IQ he showed in the last arc? when they introduced the prince's dad, the emperor....that was the last straw. so you mean evil mastermind didnt think "ah right this is an empire; i'm overthrowing the emperor's son"........and then all that buildup just for it to be a brawl. they could have asked for the emperor's help and brute-forced their way through things months prior and grandma would still be alive. and juliet got back together with romeo after he killed her grandma, and only left when he didnt love her?? and was mouthing off to rosaline when she has blood on her hands? and instantly fell for a dude bc his hands were warm, after being in love with romeo for ~4 years at that point??
still, i really hated the original work when i read it in high school; absolutely seeping with misogyny. very grateful to see romeo and mercutio dunked on.
