ahhhh i'm conflicted. yeah its overall cute, and i did for once actually really like the past lives backstory. even though the dynamic between the leads is a bit stereotypical, ie dominant stoic hyung and younger naive-blushy-falls-first MC.
butttt i feel a little unsatisfied with how everyone was so easily forgiven? one by one:
- the idol assaulted them, taking advantage of the situation to kissing without consent, apparently multiple times from one of the later chapters, and it's treated like a joke
- ofc, professor choi also sexually assaulting (kiss without consent) one and then DRUGGING the other
- the father "would've been forgiven just for being family"--least egregious, just kinda weird and feels like a plot hole or retroactively changing his character? since he was used as justification for why the ML was such a manipulative asshole and used girls one after the other. plus what happened to his "temper" that was mentioned in the beginning as the reason the mom left....did the author forget and retroactively make him less bad??
- the ex for outing them to the public and in front of MC's family. outing queer folk can lead to hate crime, harassment, and death. it's not like they're even in a socially progressive country. maybe im just a bitter queer, but saying it's okay bc it "all ended up working out" and bc they met thanks to her feels way too lighthearted and irresponsible?
yeah its just a comic and being too realistic can be sad and boring, but i feel like there were wayyyy too many serious situations that were brushed off as a joke or forgiven super easily, so all of it together gave me a kinda uneasy feeling.
side note but i really love a short one-shot comic this author did, but i can't find it. it's about an actor who falls in love with his neighbor--trying to describe it without giving spoilers.
