Tbh I read the book yall. Its irritating yes but we get a whole backstory from ML pov and tbh the amount of lies MC told is biting him in the ass. From ML pov, MC honestly looks like lying scum(not saying thats how ML think, just based objectively on ML memories). ML thinks hes just one of many and even the current confessions and wanting to date is just him being useful to MC and that eventually MC gon move on from him. In order to make MC attention in him last longer and for him to be more special to him, he even plans to get married and obtain more power from his family, in order to help MC more, therefore continuing to recieve MC favor. As for cheating aspects, in ML mind MC has no moral burdens about dating one and having another on the side(even tho MC tried to clear that up, things like the bracelet and other things make it seem like MC is a compulsive liar still dating the other guy) so why wouldn't ML get into a business marriage and still be with MC? Its fcked but everything has cause and effect. But thankfully it clears up soon.
