This is such a strange read because there's a lot of beauty to it and I love stories of healing together, but it's also very uncomfortable. I just kept finding myself wishing they wouldn't have sex, because he really was just a child no matter his age. Being stunted like that, he was physically, emotionally, and mentally a child. Angie was good in his denials and was respectful, but that doesn't change the outcome of this still showing them having sex.
It just sucks because the sweetness is there and they are ultimately good together, but he never stops looking like a child to me.
The part where Sui tugs on Angie's shirt and says "I'm happy" truly made my stomach turn because that's such a true to life thing that children will do and it's so sweet but then this is a character that is sexualized and that's so uncomfortable.
I can understand both the people who really love this and those who cannot abide by it. It toes the line in a way where even I feel uncertain if I could say I liked it.
I don't blame the characters or think either of them are bad, it just makes the author questionable for sexualizing a character that is, in every aspect but the total years he has lived, a child

Still, an interesting world and there is satisfaction in Angie eradicating those disgusting nasty perverts. A separate conversation could be had on the strange decision to "adopt" out those kids to owners. Even if the "owners" are just in a familial sense, it's just an uncomfortable world and that's not necessarily something that can't be written about. I just think I'm more disturbed than comforted. My stomach hurts.
