I agree that Keigetsu should be held accountable for her actions since that’s the only way she can grow. But, we should also acknowledge the fact she is full of trauma so she won’t be able to take action easily, although I believe she’s gonna get there soon !!
She actually questions herself why she says hurtful words instead of thanking Reirin and me, personally, I can see she doesn’t want to act like this. She wasn’t taught well on how to handle emotions or situations like this. I read that the readers were concerned for her still not changing—for me though, it makes sense why she isn’t changing immediately after how many chapters and its pretty realistic.
Idk if anyone has experienced it before, but I used to also have my self-destructive phase when I was in a bad place in life. I get why she’s acting that way. Every time something goes wrong for her it becomes her trigger and once it triggers, it all comes falling down, like the entire world is working against you once again. If you’ve been there, you’ll get how it feels. The feeling that it’s the end of the world your past traumas coming back to haunt you—the same nightmare occurring again. I truly empathize with her.
While I do feel for her, I also acknowledge the fact that she’ll have to step up sooner of later to go through her character development !!! It’ll be tough but I’m sure she’ll get there. Not everyone goes through challenges easily, we all have different mental fortitudes just like how Reirin is mentally stronger compared to Keigetsu (which is why she reacts differently in situations Keigetsu would’ve fallen into a coma in). I know this for sure because it happened to me in the past. It was a cycle of trying to get better, falling back down and finally, wanting to isolate yourself from the world because of feeling like a failure or burden.
Keigetsu is a character filled with trauma and should also start being accountable to her actions if she want’s to get better, but it will probably take her a while to develop. All it will take is empathy and a little more push and I’m sure Keigetsu will do fine. Healing takes a LOT of time and effort, so it would also be nice if we all acknowledge that too.
