Yeah, he always knew that things would turn out like that so imo it made sense for him to go away when he knew about the kid (on top of his relationship with Sohm). It also breaks my heart how fond he is of Sohm's mom, she's such a treasure and he even feels guilty that she worries about him.
I feel bad for Geon. He came back to find his dad happily married, with a new son and he seems to realize that everything was just fine without him. That he is no longer needed. That must really hurt.
