I know we're doing it for the laughs, but i kinda feel off about some people overly antagonizing Heejae on twitter. It feels like his whole character is being reduced to this typical asshole ML in just about every other sloppy BL, effectively depriving him of every nuance the author has given him over 200 chapters. I know it's something that comes with a work becoming popular, but I already miss how the fandom used to be. We went from writing thinkpieces and treating NME like a museum exhibit, to being completely brainrotted with overly sarcastic posts especially those tartgeted towards Heejae. Don't get me wrong cause I love me some laughs, but some posts are starting to feel less playful and more like they're genuinely treating Heejae as nothing but an asshole. Most of the time, it makes me question whether they actually understand the story at all.
Obviously the author clowns Heejae too, and it's not like I can speak for how they feel about it, but as a writer myself, I think I'd be dissapointed if all the nuance I've spent years building into this character get completely lost simply because making Heejae the butt of every joke seems to have become the easiest way to get likes and hit tweets on Twitter.
