I'm not so sure but I think you mix up some of the info on the third line and second, Prometheus wasn't on the second timeline, this is also mentioned my master artisan since he's the one who mix j watch, he told j that this third timeline was weird. 1st timeline j solely bare the price on created timeline 2 but because of that j body on timeline two is weak, and as the end nearer his body can't handle the progress of mutation and yeah he basically throw himself to the monster and died. Sayoung never knew j was mutating and all, this is why he got depressed on why j did that, he never knew that j was also scared at that time.
Because j now gone, as well as the other like Mateo and jungbin too also the doctor too, master artisan, gaeul and sayoung decided to make the third timeline but since they're not as powerful as j, sayoung decided to be the shackle of the world two continuesly wondering on the waste land preventing the world 2&3 to merge. And this is how the west sea rift is born as well as how Prometheus created. Since the this Prometheus claims they can see the world ends it's actually just the linking memories from world two.

Basically, there are three timelines. The SECOND Timeline was created by CEJ from Timeline One. The THIRD AND CURRENT timeline was created by LSY from TIMELINE TWO.
Now, you may be asking, Trish, why did they create these timelines??

IN TIMELINE ONE, LSY does NOT awaken. This is because J never went in that fuck ass West Sea Rift, so J looked after LSY and never left his side, eventually leading to them living together, so Sayoung never awakened. However, the apocalypse does occur, and the people who are attacked first are non-awakened civilians...To get straight to the point, Lee Sayoung dies...J literally can't function after that, so he created a watch that reverses time, and the time reversal created the second timeline. The timeline where he could try again to save his love ;-; (lwk giving lu guang from linkclick)
Onto Timeline TWO, now, this was the part where I was sobbing and literally gasping for air, because it was a thousand times worse than the first timeline, like I would rather get stabbed than have to repeat all of this, but for you guys, I'm willing to remember it... grab your tissues~
In this timeline, everything that we've seen so far happens (J going to the west fucking sea rift, sayoung being tested on, sayoung awakening etc.), so basically we can assume that timeline TWO and THREE are basically repeating events. What's happening in timeline TWO is happening in timeline THREE, but thats not good...In case you didn't know, those '8 years' J spent in the rift, he ran out of food supply, so eventually he and his colleagues had to eat the monster they killed, and obviously the monsters blood was still on their flesh right? Well... J discovered that the monsters blood wasn't something a human or hunter should consume...eventually one of their comrades turned into the rift monsters and J discovered that it was due to them eating the flesh of the monsters, but what could he do? He couldn't stop them from eating, they were literally starving to death (my poor baby :c). Eventually, all his comrades died, and he survived. But the logic still applies. J consumed the monsters' blood. He was slowly mutating...he was becoming a monster. The worst part? He knew, Sayoung knew, Sayoung couldn't do anything; he had to watch the person he loved slowly lose all their senses and turn into the creature they hated more than anything (J's mutation took longer due to his strength and power as the greatest). Btw when the mutation starts, the hair is the first thing to turn white...We saw in the early chapters that when J left the rift, his hair was already white, suggesting that his mutation had started while he was in the rift...fuck my life fuck you guys too. Let me rub salt on your wound, J literally can't walk properly, it hurts to walk. He was only 28/29.
In the end, when the apocalypse came, J being the sacrificial bitch he is, decided to throw himself towards the swarm of monsters to buy everyone time. THIS IS THE FIRST FRAGMENT GAEUL SAW IN THE EARLY CHAPTERS WHERE J WAS IN ALL BLACK, HALF OF HIS MASK WAS MISSING AND HE WAS SMILING, that was his last smile before he went to kill the monsters, and died... Sayoung found the watch that CEJ from Timeline ONE used and reversed time.
POOF, we're on the THIRD and CURRENT timeline. Now something creepy happened, because LSY from TIMELINE TWO managed to get to Gaeul from TIMELINE THREE. (yes the shady figure that pulled gaeul was TIMELINE TWO LEE SAYOUNG. He is aware that there is a third timeline, but he's aware that everything happening in the THIRD timeline is following the same structure as TIMELINE TWO. He's not that bad. He just wants to save his hyung this time. He wants to save J. He has to.
The timeline that TIMELINE THREE or OUR J has gone to in chapter 69 is TIMELINE ONE, where LSY is written to die...rip
