I'm a bit confused which makes sense because the story's just picking up but I'm 70% sure that there's some sort of time loop involved here. The retro-game motifs, his unusual fixation on Xue Zhao despite them supposedly meeting for the first time and Chen Yuan's odd phrasing once in a while. I'm very curious about the rabbits and the pomegranates. I've heard that in some cultures (I'm thinking about Iran specifically) they are related to life and rebirth. Rabbits may symbolize something too but my head is empty rn. I can't wait for things to start coming together
