Do you know what “pedo” actually means? Did you even read Chapters 1–42 properly? Yuri has his own understanding of love, and it’s different from the kind of “first love” we usually think of.
And not once did Yuri view young Xinlu with that kind of desire, like a predator. He simply fell in love with Xinlu’s beauty, like a flower blooming in the water.
That’s how Yuri understands love, and I think it’s important to look at his character based on how the story actually portrays him.

The author clearly didn’t intend to portray Yuri as a pedophile, because everything we see in RAGA makes that very clear, especially since the story is told entirely from Yuri’s POV. Let me ask you this: aside from Yuri saying that Xinlu was beautiful like a flower, was there ever any attraction, sexual desire, or strong sexual fantasy toward young Xinlu? If there had been, then yes, that would mean he was a pedophile. But in reality, there was nothing even close to that.
Yuri is simply not a pedophile. That’s what the story shows us. And why did the author write the story this way? Because the author wanted to create a beautiful character who isn’t like people in real life, because Yuri only exists within that story. That’s how I understand his character.
