Finally reading this

I remember feeling somewhat bad because everyone described the woodcutter as a 'fool' before I read it. And now, after actually reading it, I cannot even deny it. He really is an idiot. But in such an endearing way that I feel very protective of him. Despite his clumsiness, he has been so sincere with his 'wife' that I almost feel pitiful for him. Kid just wants someone to spend his life with. And while it's already obvious that our Imugi is head over heels for our dear woodcutter already, I still don't like his constant lies and manipulation. He better confess fast, or my boy is probably gonna find out the truth from another source and shut him off. Plus, the condition of going back to the heavenly realm is sketchy. I don't think living a long life and bringing the orb of the person you love is the real test. I think the real message lies in whether you are able to take that orb in the first place or not. An imugi who took the orb after killing their lover, is an imugi who never actually loved. They fail that test in that way. Leaving all that aside, I just wish my dear woodcutter doesn't get hurt too badly. I adore him so much already. He once said that this ring meant more than his life. Now that he has adjusted it and given it to him, he's basically giving him his life. That's so sweet, I'm almost tweaking.
