First of all, how much of an age difference is there between Jaeyi and the brother, cus in those flashbacks, Jaeyi looked much younger than his 17-year-old brother. Also, how come they all have light brown hair, and Jaeyi has much darker hair? Is he gonna be adopted?
Secondly, Jiseong is most likely the golden child due to his presumably severe health issues when he was younger, and since he’s not dead (even though I’m assuming his prognosis was not good originally) he now thinks the world owes him, which leads to my third point.
It’s obvious the brothers don’t see eye to eye, and if my assumption is correct that Jiseong is the golden child, he knows his parents will always take his side, and 2, he probably thinks he’s better than anyone, so he might not become romantically interested in Ideum, but he’ll definitely want to mess with his “inferior” younger brother.
Fourth, the boundary crossing in this chapter seemed less an excuse, and more of an expectation. What I mean is that he openly admits he doesn’t put his hands on sleeping/passed out people, he did with Ideum cus they’re FWB. I think in his head (and possibly Ideum’s as welll), there in an implicit understanding that anything goes, especially because of how their relationship started.
Was he a bit insensitive in rubbing it in Ideum’s face that they’re FWB? Yeah, a bit, but he’s been shown to be highly emotionally intelligent, so I think he’ll correct course really fast and not be so callous.
