The cover has a harsh light in front of their faces. You can tell based off how little shadows there are and how the shadows are all in the background on his back, indicating the light is in front and shining brightly to cause minimum shadows.
There are moments where he looks a little lighter, but most of those are depending on the light set up.
Adding on bc I went to check the cover again, we can tell that's a very bright light bc our MC has absolutely no shadows on his face and most of his body. And our ML has most of the shadows on his back just bc of how the MCs head leaning over ML is the thing giving him a shadow on his back.
It's giving the illusion of a bright flashlight pointed at them.
why r we trying so hard to defend the whitewashing?? It’s right infront of you?also you mentioned candles and how it’s lighting would adding it. Wouldn’t that mean the lighting would be more warmer making the lighting be a range from orange to yellow which could most definitely not make them look pale, if anything they’d still be “tan”. But what I’m seeing is that he looks like he’s fucking anemic

Did him turning human also snag him from his remaining color?? Like bro was “tan” from the chapters I left off on but now he’s so PALE
