He's never been a green flag sure but nothing in this was telling us he would eventually rape Yujin. He's an obsessive manipulative kinda guy but that is just a toxic red flag while rape is a crime and that does not fit with his character

he literally was crashing out for months and started a worldwide search for yujin against yujins will, lying and manipulating everyone around him to get what he wants. that coupled with the fact that, like you said, he IS toxic, manipulative, and obsessive why would he suddenly draw the line at being a law abiding citizen? this isn’t THAT shocking of a turn of his character. like any sane person aluld acknowledge yujins autonomy to leave, aaron didn’t.

Because the law abiding thing directly impacts Yujin He has done other things that go against the law but not this.
He went insane when Yujin left him and yes he tried to bring him back against his will but up until now he has prioritised Yujin's safety and comfort. I'm pretty sure he wanted to lock him up and keep him all to himself even before that but he didn't, cuz he cared for Yujin's feelings on some degree. But now it all gets thrown away and he doesn't give a shit and only wants to satisfy his own desires.
You's think a whole year would be enough for him to come up with something more logical to convince Yujin to not leave him again. Kidnapping and chaining him up kinda makes sense but the rape part doesn't. It only shows that he's stupid if he really thinks that will dissuade Yujin from leaving again

100% everything he is doing is self destructive, and I never said it’s actions weren’t stupid. But he has always done what he wants. He was only giving Yujin so much grace before because he geniuenly didn’t expect or foresee the chance that Yujin could leave him. But since the very beginning he’s done as he pleases. Reread the first chapters the story literally began with him pushing for Yujin to pursue singing despite Yujin’s resistance. The story literally began with him fulfilling his own desires. That’s literally the most consistent part of his character.

I understand not liking Aaron’s actions but I don’t thinking it’s out of character. Aaron’s clearly not thinking straight and nothing he’s doing is presented as something that’s a healthy sane strategy. You’re trying to apply logical sane decision making to a guy who is KIDNAPPING and CHAINING people up. That’s not normal person behaviour so you can’t expect normal person thought processes. Rape is literally defined by a lack of consent and so is kidnapping so for Aaron to do one and the other is plausible.

I think a lot of people are just being performative in their outrage. I find it weird they draw the line at rape and not the kidnapping, manipulation, lying, and stalking. I thought most readers were like me in the sense that they can acknowledge the darker themes but still read as it is a fictional story. Like if they don’t like to read any dark stuff that’s fine, but then you don’t like Flashlight because that’s been the whole manwha.

Kidnapping is literally romanticised so often. Kidnapping does happen. Something being more common doesn’t make it less of a bad thing. You are so out of touch it’s insane. You can’t even see it as bad so you are literally the example of desensitisation. You aren’t even acknowledging it’s bad but looking past it you are actively trying to justify kidnapping saying that it “make sense” and would “be okay for a little bit”.
