idk what you mean when you say it's going the dark route coz it was dark romance since day 1? Aaron was always obsessed with him and Yujin is still the same considering how he's still rage baiting that guy don't see any of them acting OOC here
and when you say she could have done something unique, idk he basically ran away from him and considering how obsessed he is Idt there was anyway this reunion could have been soft or happy, Aaron isn't the type to cry (yet) so we can't expect him grovelling on Yujin's feet either (yet)
why did this have to go down the dark romance, taboo route? one of the reasons i enjoyed this bl was bc of yujin's personality, his assertiveness and confidence -- i really despise it when the autonomy of a bottom is taken away by the top and the whole relationship becomes a demeaning power trip, especially when the execution isnt done well (and it really isn't in most bls...)
im fine with consuming media containing dark topics but when it is done lazily and out-of-character like here, it really takes the enjoyment out of the story. it becomes unoriginal, it becomes boring. the author could have done something unique with yujin and aaron's reunion; instead, her lack of creativity and imagination really shows with how the plot has progressed this season.
i also realise i've been slightlyy looking at this story with rose-coloured glasses; to be completely and totally honest i think the sexual attraction between the two leads really carries the plot (or lack thereof). but hey, what can you expect? its a manhwa
