Well it isn’t shocking if you actually pay attention to the kind of behavior & thoughts Aaron has had, ever since he began having affection for Yujin. He’s shown low levels of antisocialPD. Never said what he’s doing is justified nor morally accepted, just not surprising.

A disorder in its most extreme form doesn't have to be the defining characteristic of a character nor does it automatically set the expectation for their future choices and behaviors. They are supposed to be developing characters, not a set of symptoms on a page of a psychiatric diagnostic manual. Which means having obsessive tendencies doesn't necessarily lead to choosing to do this specific act at this specific timing. If you actually paid attention you would have noted how his behavior after getting better acquainted with yujin as a person, understanding him better, caring for him and considering his wants and need would have been a perfect justification for aaron to not having resorted to these actions. Many other ways to show his disturbed state of mind at the point of their reunion without doing something that will have an irreparable cost to the story's quality when the inevitable "happy ending" comes along.
