Ian was the son of a count - his father supported a different prince ( brother of the current emperor) - because that prince didn’t ascend the throne- he was eliminated- and the people to do the elimination are Angel’s Breath - Ian’s mother hid him under the bed- and Kyla ( rookie) lied to her senior that everyone is eliminated ( she new someone was hiding under the bed) she made sure that the one hiding heard the rendezvous point so they could avoid being caught- Ian fled in the opposite direction and while running he saw kyla throwing his mother’s corpse into the fire .
Ian a 13 years old kid wondered the street trying to survive until he was captured by the slave market he was purchased by the guild master of Angel’s Breath ( the same man that bought Kyla ) - kyla was 16 Ian was 13 and she was tasked to train him and then years passed- they were enemies then comarades then friends until friendship turn into love - Ian who was bought and trained and corrupted by the same people who killed his family/ Ian the once noble turned into a slave then an assassin fell in love with the person who participated in eradicating his family the same person who threw his mother’s corpse into burning felt PAIN - he truly Loved her but how can he keep loving her when his objective in life is taking revenge . Not for a minute did he forget how his family was killed and burned so he DECIDED TO KILL HER - he thought if’s she’s gone it will hurt less that if she’s no longer alive he will be able to exact his revenge .
And so when she died by his hands and the way he burned her corpse ( how she burned his mother) he dissolved the guild there was no longer a gathering of assassins called Angel’s Breath . He then prepared his revenge plot to gain back what he lost ( probably his status since his family are long gone ).
