Saw someone being frustrated at Baekhee for not just running away and it's like harder than said then done Even if you don't understand him or his situation,why do you think grown people still struggle to to get away from abuse.
He is literally a highschooler with no family and not one real friends. His father is an abusive POS that threaten to kill him. Gyeom who gave him his first hope is using that trauma and his circumstances to emotionally and sexually abuse him. Baekhee also said that he DID LIKED Gyeom, his hope has anchored to Gyeom for years. His only life raft, the only one with money, privilege and backing to help him. There are so many power dynamic,group dynamics and anxiety that Baekhee can't just up and decide to run away with Il-woo. He is also obviously letting this happen so that Gyeom would leave Il-woo alone. I feel like it's not hard at all to see where Baekhee is coming from. If I were to be in his situation. I would literally asked myself
"If I make Gyeom angry, what will he do to me?" "What if my father gets out of prison and comes after me?" "Gyeom has always been my safety net, even if he used me almost as an object or a pet." "Il-woo said he was only staying for a while. What if he leaves?" Why did he kiss me if he was planning to kill himself?" "Is our relationship even strong enough for me to risk everything."
Idk y'all...not specifically targeted at anyone when I say this but idk it just seems like some readers get frustrated at every conflict or plot so easily in the story and it's like...do you want 3 chapters...?*read a love triangle* "WHY IS THERE A LOVE TRIANGLE?!" *Read a manhwa with miscommunication* "WHY DON'T THEY JUST TALK?" *Read angst* "WHY IS THERE ANGST?"
