was it really that bad? I remember really liking this one, it had kind of a shounen feel to it which was really nice. I dont think serious topics always need to be taken seriously, also people react and process serious situations differently, it doesn't always have to be ptsd and depression. but tbh I cant really remember how this story goes about it.

But there is room in fiction for dark topics to not always be explored with the seriousness of realism. I love a good dark comedy for example.

The story breaks its own tone. The first part is pretty realistic when its exploration and getting to know each other and adjusting etc. By that logic other themes should also be treated that way, realistically. And the most important thing is, it reads shallow, and dissatistying. If it reads that way, the writer failed in conveying their story properly.
I can't get with the tone this manga takes with serious issues such as murder, rape, sexual exploitation, pedophilia, like?? It doesn't take these themes seriously, and treats them with a casualness, commonplace nonchalance that feels downright outrageous. The characterisation and disposition of Seven certainly does not reflect everything that happened with him. And the secondary and tertiary characters also don't feel real, but more caricaturist. I was appalled reading this manga, japanese media treats these type of themes way too unseriously, the way they insert some type of vague pedo shit even in their general shounen mangas. The characters in this story did not even begin to express the kind of mental, psychological and physical toll rape, crime, murder, blackmail can take on a young person, like what the FUCK?? Story was light hearted comedy in the first season that turned into some mobster shit where issues like rape and pedophilia were treated as tag alongs, they were given the most superficial treatment, what was this damn author thinking? One could tell that Seven was abused but I didn't think this was the kind of tone and treatment author would take. I am dropping this shit. And never want to read anything like this ever again. I picked this manga from a rec list of a person I thought had good reading sense, fuck, I was wrong. Fuck that fucking person and fuck this author! I am out. FUCK THIS
