Yeah thats what i thought too. Except Jaehan already in tough position before he and Euijeun dated bcuz of his failing grade and that photography hobby of his.
If you look closely to the cover, the ML is holding a syringe, and he is working in pharmaceuticals who specializes in schizophrenia and other medicine for the mind. He definitely caused the MC's amnesia (just a theory)

So the MC already liked the ML (younger brother/Jae-hyun) so he would ask the older brother (Jae-han) for stuff abt Jae-hyun eventually the MC "comforming" that Jae-hyun(ML) is disgusted by the concept of mlm(or smth) he got sad and the older brother (Jae-han) used the opportunity to fest on the MC bc he liked him and also had an inferiority complex towards the ML(his younger brother) so eventually the MC started dating with the older brother (Jae-han) but Jae-han(older brother) already not favored by his parents AFTER their parents found out abt their relationship his parents scolded the MC leaving the MC to eventually disappear?? So the older brother Jae-han decided to also leave bc he felt that everything was bc of him and that the ML will always be better than him.
Then cut to present time Jae-hyun is taking advantage of the MC's amnesia bc during the time the MC and the older brother(Jae-han) was dating or yk VERY CLOSE the ML also liked the MC? myb in a sense of like "possessiveness" or smth and was obvs jealous that the MC was now very close to the older brother so ofc mc was avoiding him now THEN CUT TO present he is LYING that they're dating bc they NEVER dated
