Me reading this and constantly wondering when these bitches re the elders are gonna start getting their comeuppance ??? Like I’m genuinely infuriated but also I love the outside perspective of chanran coz it really encapsulates how bizzare everything that’s happening to mc and around him is. How none of ignoramous fools slowly waiting to die coz let’s be real everyone not part of the main household and directly of use to the elders is a sacrifice, never thought to question how odd it is that a family and its council of elders with a well documented history of being touched by the divine continues to essentially nurture wat they all believe is the source of all their misfortune is insane and their coming downfall or current perceived downfall if we go by hyeons perspective of events. it never occurred to any of them to even ask themselves wat is there to gain from keeping him alive wen banishing him or letting him die would be a mercy to all involved so no one is further harmed or terrorized is again bizzare. Y they all seem to just accept that the elders have shit well in hand or are too brainwashed to even think to question it is also bizzare but also sad. They’re fr in a cult and can’t or refuse to see it for wat it is Also I truly hope mc himself also wakes up from the hold the elders have on him too.
