I really hope Maxi will learn to love herself, she needs that to help her be a better partner. Riftan can’t fix all her self hate, it’s something she has to do for herself. Sadly I understand where is fear is coming from of being alone again. They really aren’t ready to be with each other, they both have some growing to do, right now their love is just toxic and hurting. Hopefully the love with come back better after her time at the mage school.
