Generally speaking I understand everyone who hates the inclusion of the assault scene, bc it definitely doesn't feel necessary to have to read every second of it, and I don't think Pilgyeon needed a redeeming future of any kind (like stop telling me about him idgaf). But while I was reading it I didn't get the feeling I should be enjoying what I was seeing- it felt excruciating. I was totally uncomfortable the whole time not just bc it was sexual assault but bc of how the author portrayed what was happening. There are next to no other works I've read that make me feel that way when they show me actual assault (which is too many). Granted, when I first read this work I had just come from reading "Liebling" where there was gratuitous sexual assault fcking constantly for literally no reason and was never approached with the same gravity.
