yupyup~ i did try to look back from the start of the manhwa until the current arc+others' discussion online. ilay/taeui at unhrdo(roughly 6 months), taeui hiding/chasing arc(3-4months), back in hongkong(about a month), looking for jaeui at seringe(less than a month?), taeui at rahmaan's mansion(roughly a month). so it's kinda slightly more than a year
there will NEVER be a time where i'll defend ilay's horrific actions towards taeui.but this is a good reminder for readers that ilay has always been a black flag, a literal born psychopath from day 1,he's not gonna change drastically just because he has an attachment towards taeui. honestly,him reconsidering his idea of killing taeui & him begging taeui not to cry(because it causes turmoil within him), can be considered 'his own version of character development' because ilay himself has easily killed far more people for doing less than what taeui has done. 'oh but it's been 140+ chapters'->within the passion universe, that is ONLY a year+a few months. taeui is a gilsangcheon, not a saint who can turn a psycho into angel within that timeframe. i have to praise Yuuji-nim though for keeping ilay's personality consistent, and Kangjak-nim for managing to draw/deliver the moments of taeui's terror towards ilay and how horrifying ilay truly is in chptr 141/142
