I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but if you look closely, when you read Toshio's journal entries at the end of each chapter, you can actually see the improvement in his handwriting as time goes by. Also, It's to my understanding that this is a fan translation and not the official right?, the fact that the TL took the time is amazing.
