I just clicked on this bc the cover art was beautiful, I normally read summaries b4 I read anything but this time I just dove straight into ch 1, and... first impressions: I thought it was gonna be a cute coming of age story about a 14? 15? y/o girl's relationship with her family members: her sister, her sisters boyfriend (- old enough to be pursuing veterinary medicine mind you), her career woman mom, etc.
I thought the boyfriend blushing when she called his name was a little sus but thought it might later be explained away as the type of joy when a child you're trying to get closer to finally accepts you. Like when a step child calls you "dad".
So tell me why I get to reading the tags and it's a romance b/w the SISTER'S BOYFRIEND AND THE CHILD. Furthermore it's even sadder that the older sister seems to love her (FL) so much? Like when FL is saying she doesn't want to be a financial burden by attending cram school, the older sister chimes in like: "Don't worry I'll start working soon~" and offers to help their mom pay. And the reason she noticed her BF in the first place was bc his name reminded her of her little sister.
So - not believing what I'm seeing - I skip to the latest chapter and lo and behold, it's not that the FL has a childish crush that the older man never returns. The feeling is mutual. They are entering a relationship.
The FL is a bird bitch and the ML is a pedophile. I'd be so hurt as the older sister and mad AF if I was the mom.
I have no desire to read this anymore, so out of curiosity - my Q to ppl who read this fully: Does the older sister show up again after chapter one and find out her man wants her little sister that he's known since she's been in elementary school? How does she react? I gotta know.
It's crazy bc I got a younger sister 8 yrs younger than me & if this happened to me I wouldn't even mourn the man much(I have no desire to date someone that preys on my little sister, or any child really), I'd be sadder that my sister would do this to me. I'd be like girl do u not love me, WTF? I'd go no contact with these people. I couldn't imagine doing this to a female family member.
