nah I get this, the fanarts for the novel have given me the worst case of expectations for the adaptation ╥﹏╥

I think their handle is @ fovopobo? If you look up “black swan bl fanart” you’ll find a lot of it too (their style is easy to spot)

I’m glad I’m not alone T^T was kinda scared to even say anything about it bc I do love this story and artist and ik a lotta ppl do too, but I just had to get this off my chest

It's okay I'm sure there's a good amount of people that share the same opinion, I too love the story and the artist so long as the adaptation stays true to the novel I won't have anything else to complain about. I need them to do it justice cuz it's such an inedible story.

i get your comment bc i too was a bit surprised by how much ‘younger’ hwanmae looks compared to fovopobo’s earlier fanarts. tho do keep in mind that theyve been drawing fanart for wdea/black swan for the past 5-6 yrs now so their art style was bound to change. + im in the midst of rereading the novel and they do often note how much younger hwanmae appears despite being in his late 20s/early 30s (spoiler; has to do w/ his ability) and the author probably wanted his character design to reflect and requested that to the artist. black swan is a huge bl ip and fovopobo is essentially the ceo of this fandom so i hope that can appease u on the adaptation’s quality

Thanks ! Yeah I have to admit I like their old designs better. I think it might be the build/height? Anyways something is a bit off. Still, the artist did a fantastic job.
