I think a lot of people attacked the author because it seemed like the story was going into a toxic rape sorta thing. So in guessing they got send a lot of threats
Lots of people got angry bec. Aaron revealed himself to be fucked up in the head. They kept championing him as a "green flag" love interest and it blew on their faces. There were plenty of signs in S1 that he was an obsessive bitch but it flew over many people's heads (including mine btw) and some took it way too far by bullying the author by harassing them on X.
No literally was about to comment this. If you didn’t like the story or thought it was going to be a rape BL then drop it or idk, wait to see how it goes. I wish they all kept the same energy for other works that are actually way worse and are pure fetish content. This story is peak, it all makes sense bc Aaron been crazy since the beginning. Aaron is not a red/black flag. Will stand ten toes down on this too.

Ngl, I also dont like the trends of people compartmentalizing character's by coloured flags. Many characters will have flaws of their own and if feels like placing them in a "green flag" vs "black flag" dichotomy waters down other facets of their personality. It just feels like people just want all perfect, sanitized main characters with fluffy and wholesome personalities, ignoring the fact that some authors prefer to delve into gritty and dark themes.
After all that whining and complaining and bullying the author, not shocked that this happened. I would go on a hiatus too if many readers kept whining about the story.
