English is not my maternal language so the last few chaps were so confusing to me. Can someone explain ? From what I get the king's mistress took the mc's place for her family. She doesn't like mc because she didn't want to be her friend. The dunmel duchess dowager tried to kill her nephew because of his confession to the red haired lady to restore the family's honor ?? Mc's talking about a cage ?? Like metaphorically or like a real cage ?
