the owl is a part of the forest obvi and when humans are hungry they destroy things, exploit the land and harm the ecosystem. when luka created the song that taught humans how to farm more sustainably, that diminished the hunger and consequently decreased the anount of harm being done to the forest. the owl essentially recognized the value in teaming up with luka, who can teach humans ways of living that dont bring so much harm through his songs, in order to benefit his own forest kin and owl flock. so he decided to help them out and be friends in advance in hopes that one day they can work together to keep making things better for everyone. i think he is also intrigued by the concept of immortality without violent consumption.
noah, the snake, said he wants to use this opportunity (working with the owl to help deliver a baby from an omega human male) in order to learn more. i think his goal is to provide enough insight and learn enough from owl’s ears and his own research to make childbirth easier for omegas and be able to share that with other beings. i know his reason had to do with Wele and how much pity he feels toward the suffering that omegas have to endure for everyone else’s benefit (the way wele was chopped up and planted so humans could farm and live and the way omegas are sacrificed to gods and die in childbirth to sustain their tribes livelihoods), but someone else will have to chip in on that bc there may be more layers to it!
