i was thinking the exact same thing- they truly are so similar, two sides of the same coin. they even share the same insecurities, although the reasons as to why and the way either of them portray it is definitely contrasting
The brother was enabled by the parents, thatswhy he doing this in his grown age !! Ik jaeyi will put him in his place later (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ he tryna weasel his way to ideum just because of jaeyi
Ideum relates to the brother’s hospital experiences. But he and Jaeyi would relate to always having to hold back for the sake of others. Their needs as kids being ignored or misconstrued is so painful. This follows them into their adulthood where Ideum feels so awkward with normal human interactions. While Jaeyi is out socializing but he can’t make close connections to people because he believes there is no point in being serious or passionate.
The parents are horrible too, there are TWO of you. You can swap back and forth on which parent can spend time with them so neither feel neglected. But just like Ideum’s mom, they have the expectation that he will be a “good brother” and comply. I hope he doesn’t hurt Ideum but I wouldn’t be surprised that the one person he is feeling serious with unknowingly just makes him snap. The brother still doing this at his grown age is wild.
