Yea and if anything they both focused on “neautral it’s” in their killing - Thanos’s snap killed randomly , assuring no bias , Here there was always a trial and vote on who died (rigged but still), and still an OPTION of whether to follow him back to the camp after he had killed a loved one
Is it weird to say I understand what guwon is saying. He’s not necessarily a bad guy but the way he went about things was bad, I see him similar to thanos. Thanos believe we were running out of resources to support the population (which is currently happening) and needed proper control. Thanos went about it in the way that made the most sense for him; by killing off half of the population, there’ll be a sufficient amount of resources. Similar to guwon, he kept the people protected and resources fairly, no one got more or less, medicine used for the ones most in need. On top of that knowing some are more capable of protecting themselves than others. I think most of the town folk forget the world is no longer the same then what they think it is and with it most might not have the strength to live, to kill, or to hunt. Guwon had a system but too much discord for it to function whether it be people believed they were better or they deserved more. That’s my take on it
