Exactly same thing I've been mulling over after reading ch 10
Doesn't that make the ml at least 20 years older or maybe at the very least 15 years older. This means he's the one who held the mc during his hospital stay right, does that make this like emotional incest?? I like the story so far but I feel a bit conflicted now
Yeah, this story started off freaky but interesting with the worldbuilding, but it does what a lot of BLs do; use it as a backdrop and focus on the couple. It should be 50/50, not 70/30. I think the whole plot is interesting, but the dynamic is really weird. A wildcard uke is one thing, as is a consensual violent sexual relationship, but the sudden flashback and the shifty aspects of the uke make things a little...murky? I'm assuming MC doesn't remember ML exactly, so that's why he's even dealing with him. But it's still weird because ML knows. I hope that's a false memory, especially since he went along with being called "dad" and called himself "mom" in one of the translations.
Yh and he also refers to the mc as a baby and straight up treats him like a kid, cooking for him, cleaning up after him, it's really sus
Im gonna be sad if their dynamic is left weird. Its so hard to find decent bl that the plot isnt 85% smut nowadays, I've seen some ridiculous plot lines that are clearly orchestrated so that the ml has some sort of reason to sleep with the mc
And it's not the usual 'delicate' uke with rape scenes either. Sighhhhhh, fingers crossed that it turns out to be normal
Yeah, it almost make me see MC as a child despite not being one. It's kinda gaslight-y, which is a red flag to me. I'm reading a BL right now because I liked the author/artist's other work and it had a neat concept...but we're on chapter 83, and only about 15 chapters had important lore. Heck, even now they've started this weird pattern of making the first few pages lore-heavy--and then back to smut. And most people figure the lore is only for the sake of hinting at relationship development rather than the world or other characters. I've heard shounen ai is better, but I think it's just a lack of smut; IDK if the writing is better, or if romance is just prioritized over sex.
Fingers crossed. But I've been thinking these men looks so much alike that now the "Dad" thing is gonna bug the heck out of me. Sometimes I can't even tell who's who unless it's sex or facial expressions.
I have read a few shounen Ai but honestly I haven't sought any out in a long while so i can't say if they'rebetter overall, I mostly read the ones i have when I first joined this website. If you're curious, you could check my completed list, there is a good one I'm reading rn that has a supernatural plot involving high schoolers.
83 chapters with around 15 meaningful chapters is crazy work tho omg , wish I could say im surprised. There's like 2 bls in my currently reading that I've been ignoring because of the way it just deviated from the plot and there are so many chapters dedicated to long drawn out sex
I'll check it out! And yeah, that's how it goes. I'm surprised they chose a unique concept...and just went to sexy times. I think their story even contradicted itself 50 chapters later with the lore. They FOR SURE never addressed the misunderstanding that set up the plot of the story.
Yeah, I have 100+ stuff in my reading list (half of which haven't updated in forever or I'm waiting for officials or they're on hiatus), so lemme know if you need recs. I can be picky!
I think the drawn-out sex is for viewer retention; if it doesn't get enough attention, the series get cancelled. I get it, but they often do it for WAY too long.

I'd thought for a while that these men looked alike, but the "dad" thing was insanely disturbing if it was true--not to mention the age gap. And ML has been suspicious by isolating him excessively, so why trust him with CRITICAL info about the vaccine?
