I agree that it's often and almost all of sibling relationships are ruined because of the parents taking sides or mistreatment. But in this case, I really believe Jiseong's character is messed up too. Just because he was sick as a child and his brother's healthy, he felt everything he wanted would be his.
He consciously asked his parents to sleep in the hospital while his brother was at home alone. Not to mention the magazines Jaeyi liked, food Jaeyi wanted, and even his hobbies had to be given up.
Hmm I see your point. I think I just inherently refuse to believe that someone could be evil for the sake of it but after rereading it's clear jiseong, to some extent, has a complex towards jaeyi that is far greater than just their parents influence
Crazy how fucked up parents create fucked up sibling relationship I feel like it's neither of their fault, it's 100% the parents. They both deserve to love and be loved, not over each other. Or at least it's the parents responsibility to AT LEAST teach their kid why their sibling needs more attention. I mean, I went through something similar, where my sister was constantly sick throughout childhood and parents just naturally cared for her a bit more. Did that fuck with me? Yeah. But I don't resent my sister at all. Because my father sat me down one day and explained all this to me.
